The Guinness World Record holder for the longest singing marathon solo, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, is a broadcast journalist from Ghana who supports women’s rights.
The aim of Afua Asantewaa Aduonum to attempt the longest singing marathon was announced on December 6, 2023.
On her official Facebook page, she shared a short video announcing her readiness to accept this task.
The challenge’s conditions state that Afua Asantewaa Aduonum must sing more than 3,200 songs from Ghana in 117 hours, breaking the previous record of 105 hours set in 2012.
Every song she performs has a two-minute maximum, and she can only perform the same song twice after the fourth hour.
Aduonum Afua Asantewaa A few minutes ago, the Sing A-Thon began, with the goal of setting a new record for the longest singing marathon by an individual challenge. It will run until Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
The Guinness World Records Record Attempt-Longest Singing Marathon Individual has been officially confirmed and approved by the Ghana Tourism Authority to take place at the AKWAABA VILLAGE, which is situated at the Airport in Accra.
