John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, was a Nollywood actor. His family has revealed the date of his funeral.
at a family statement, the late actor will be laid to rest on June 28, 2024, at his birthplace of Amuri, in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The Okafor family of Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West LGA, Enugu State, would like to pay tribute to our beloved hero and legend, John Ikechukwu Okafor, who even in death left behind a legacy of love, humor, and vibrancy.
On June 28, 2024, we would be grateful for your honorable attendance as we lay our son, husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and in-law to rest.
As we enjoy the greatest and final moments with our icon, kindly join us, the statement said.

According to the announcement, the burial ceremony will be off on Tuesday, June 25th with a well-known novelty match. On Wednesday, June 26th, there will be a session named Mr. Ibu’s Night, which will feature live entertainment and a candlelight procession.
His compound in Eziokwe Amuri, Nkanu West, will have a Christian wake on June 27. On June 28, there will be a funeral service.
On Sunday, June 30, a church service honoring family, friends, and sympathizers will conclude the five-day funeral ritual.
While undergoing therapy at the hospital last month, Mr. Ibu passed away.
