After one of its well-known actors, Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, passed away, the Nollywood film industry was plunged into sadness once more.

Nicknamed Junior Pope, the actor passed away on Wednesday, April 10, in the afternoon, along with three of his coworkers, all of whom were 39 years old.

Their boat overturned in the River Niger in Asaba, Delta State, according to sources, and they perished as a result.

Three kids and a wife were left behind by him.

After a few hours of claims regarding his death, Junior Pope was reportedly still alive according to a mortuary staff member who denied the actor’s death.

After exhibiting signs of life, he was brought to a hospital, but he passed away while undergoing care.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria verified his demise early on Thursday, April 11, after his brief survival after CPR.
