After defeating Wolves at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal increased their lead over the top team in the Premier League standings to four points.

Bukayo Saka beat Craig Dawson in the penalty area and fired low into the bottom corner to give the Gunners, who defeated Lens 6-0 midweek, an early lead.

Shortly after, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus combined for a brilliant team play that Martin Odegaard finished to double the hosts’ lead to 2-0.

Arsenal pushed for a third goal that would have sealed the victory, but Gabriel Martinelli’s low drive sailed wide of the post and Leandro Trossard and Jesus also had good looks.

With five minutes remaining, Wolves rallied with a thunderous effort at the near post from Matheus Cunha, who tested David Raya’s reflexes. Cunha then curled a fantastic drive into the top corner to give the visitors hope.

But Gary O’Neil’s team was unable to complete the comeback, and shortly after Cunha’s goal, Eddie Nketiah shot against the goal frame for Arsenal.
