The 2023 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), which is aimed for senior high schools and TVET, was released today.
Out of the 598,839 results that were collected from WAEC, 585,797 students were eligible for placement, according to a press statement from the Ministry of Education.
The ministry stated, “A total of 477,772 (81.56%) have been automatically placed in one of their choices.”
According to the ministry, this represents a significant advancement over the prior year.

However, they were unable to match any of the 108,025 (18.44%) qualifying applications.
The ministry has advised that all of these students use “self-placement” to select from the available colleges as a result.
The government claims that until they register at a school, candidates are free to change the schools they select on the Self-Placement Portal as much as they please.
“All schools with vacancies have been uploaded on the portal for students to select from during self-placement without hitches,” it further stated. Parents, the public at large, and students—especially those who were not matched with their choices via the computerized placement process—were all given this assurance.
Furthermore, the Education Ministry warned against funding shady companies that promise to enhance kids’ education, asserting that “the Computerised School Placement is merit-based.”
